Plant of Chinese and Korean origin containing ginsenosides, an essential oil, polyacetylenes, volatile organic acids, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, mucilage. It is used as a supplement which has general tonic qualities. It is used also in cosmetics for its qualities of stimulation and revitalisation of skin cell tissue, because of its toning, anti-wrinkling, moisturising, anti-dermatosis and vaso-protective effects and because it gives body and shininess to hair. It is considered suitable for skin which is tired, loose, wrinkled, reddened, with couperose.
